Old technology is still useful
A good chunk of you reading this are reading on a pocket-sized rectangle of compressed technology millions of times more powerful than the computers that helped put men on the Moon in the 1960s. With such powerful technology literally at our fingertips, it's easy to forget that there are still people out there making do with technology you probably thought was obsolete.
The VCR
If you were a child of the 80's the VCR was a seminal part of your child hood. The large black block can hold one movie, which is mind blowing to todays youth. Some people still have a large collection of these videos and with the advent of streaming services that don't carry old movies. These video tapes are still useful. As long as you can find a working player.
Cassette Player
Mix tapes still rule supreme. The cassette player was a versatile piece of tech invented in the 1970's. You could hold multiple songs on it and it was useful to both carry music while on the go as well as record music from the radio. Some people still experience the nostalgia by maintaining a collection.
Record Player
Vinyl has made a resurgence in recent years. The collecting of albums has now become a popular hobby. Record labels are now regularly pressing new records for both classic and modern hits.
